Terms of Publication
Al-Mahra University Journal for Humanities is issued by Al-Mahra University according to the following rules:
The submitted research papers should be printed and submitted for publication in Microsoft Word. The paper should be formatted to A4 size, with dimensions of 2.5 in all directions, according to the following:
First: General Conditions for Accepting Research
Research must be original and based on sound scientific methodology.
Research must not have been previously published or submitted for publication to another party, and the researcher must submit a written acknowledgment to that effect.
Research papers must be written in correct language, taking into account the rules of punctuation and accuracy of forms - if any - in Word format.
Research papers should be written in (Simplified Arabic) font, size (14) for the text, and 10 for the footnotes, for research papers in Arabic, and in (Times New Roman) font, size (12) for research papers in English, and the main titles should be in bold, size (16). The distance between the lines should be (1.0 cm), and the distance between the margins should be (2.5 cm) on each side.
The researcher should avoid plagiarism and research misconduct, or quoting others' phrases or ideas without referring to the original sources.
The research must include an abstract in both languages (Arabic and English), including the research objective, the sample studied, the methodology followed, the division of the research, and the most prominent results reached, provided that each of them does not exceed 200 words, and is not less than 120 words.
The research should contain keywords - 4 to 6 words - that indicate the research areas.
The research should contain an introduction that includes the known and recognized conditions and terms of introductions, provided that it should state the relationship of the research to previous studies and its novelty, the research methodology, its problem, and the method of dividing it.
Second: Documentation and Tables
The journal follows documentation in one of two ways, the first is the (APA) system, seventh edition, and in the second method: sources and references are referred to in the form of numbered footnotes at the bottom of the page, and the footnotes at the bottom of the pages are sufficient with the author’s surname and the title of the book/research, then the volume number (if any) and the page, while the references in both methods should be according to the (APA) system, seventh edition. They, then, are arranged alphabetically, or as follows:
Research and articles published in periodicals and magazines: Write the researcher’s surname, name, title of the study, name of the periodical, volume number, issue number, page numbers, and year of publication.
Books: Author's surname, his/her name, title of the book, name of the publisher, then year of publication.
Theses: Author’s surname, his/her name, the title of the thesis, its type, name of the university, the country, and year.
Publications and statistics issued by an official body: Name of the body, title of the report, city, page numbers, year of publication.
Websites: Author’s surname, his/her name, topic title, year of publication, electronic link, and the year the material was taken.
Conferences: Researcher’s surname, research title, conference name, volume number, page numbers, and year of publication.
Tables are formatted according to APA 7th edition.
Third: Attachments required with the submitted research
A letter from the researcher to the editor-in-chief, stating his/her desire to publish his/her research in the journal and specifying the precise area of the research.
A written undertaking from the researcher that his research has not been published, or submitted for publication, in another journal.
A copy of the data collection tool (questionnaire or other), if it is not included in the body of the research or its appendices.
A copy of the research in Word and PDF format.
Fourth: Arbitration and Publication Procedures
After the research is approved for arbitration by the editor-in-chief or managing editor, it is referred to the arbitrators.
Submitted research is subject to anonymous double review by referees.
The decision to accept or reject the research for publication is determined based on the reports submitted by referees and editors. This decision is grounded in the scientific value of the research, its adherence to the approved publication conditions and the journal's stated policy, as well as the principles of scientific integrity, originality, and novelty.
The editor-in-chief shall inform the researcher of the referees’ decision regarding whether or not the manuscript is suitable for publication, or whether the recommended amendments shall be made.
The researcher is committed to the amendments recommended by the referees and editors in the research according to the reports sent to him, within a period not exceeding 15 days.
Once the manuscript is confirmed to be in its final form, it undergoes linguistic revision and technical review before being forwarded for final production.
Issues are published electronically on the journal’s website according to the specified publication schedule and can be downloaded for free and without conditions immediately after publication.
