Abstract

This research aimed to study the artistic features in the ascetic poetry (zuhdiyyāt) of Abu al-Atahiya. The motivation for choosing this topic lies in the significance of ascetic poetry in Arabic literature, especially during the Abbasid era. The study relied on excerpts and poems from the diwan of Abu al-Atahiya. The research relied on a descriptive analytical approach, supplemented by a historical method, to study the zuhd poetry of Abu al-Atahiya and reveal its artistic features.. The research concluded with several key findings, including the diversity of ascetic themes, the simplicity and clarity of the language in the ascetic poetry, and ended with references and sources used in the study.
