Governor Bin Yasser indicated that the inauguration of Al-Mahra University is a great achievement for all the people of Al-Mahrah and comes after the desire of many students to achieve scientific and academic achievement in all fields and disciplines, appreciating the efforts of the Presidency of Hadramout University and their effective role in the process of establishing the university and providing them with the academic expertise and competencies of the College of Education and the rest of the colleges in Governorate, stressing that these efforts will continue to be appreciated and cherished by the local authority and all the people of Al-Mahrah. In his speech, Governor Bin Yasser directed all leaders of the local authority, social figures, sheikhs, and all the people of Al-Mahrah to maintain security and stability and to be keen on maintaining the governorate at the present time more than ever before, calling for everyone to appreciate the suffering of the local authority in its exertion of many efforts in providing Lots of service aspects. The President of Al-Mahrah University, Dr. Anwar Kalshat, indicated that the inauguration of Al-Mahrah University came after long and persistent efforts, follow-ups and continuous demands to issue a decision to establish Al-Mahrah University until today, praising the efforts of the leadership of the local authority represented by Governor Bin Yasser and all former governors and ministers in their follow-up to the decision leading to the opening of the university. He extended his thanks and greetings to the people of Al-Mahrah to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the President and members of the government for issuing the historic decision to establish Al-Mahrah University, and appreciating the role of Hadramout University in the establishment process. He called on the government to support the university and adopt infrastructure projects that meet the university’s expansionist vision. Kalshat explained that an implementable strategic plan is currently being prepared for the university that meets the requirements of the modern era, noting that for the first time at the governorate level, three colleges will be established and new majors will be opened during the academic year.
