The Quran Sciences department was established at the beginning of the year 2013-2014 and started in its first year with a number of (60) male and female students from Al-Mahra Governorate and from abroad.

Vision

Achieving excellence in the academic performance and scientific outcomes to compete with the similar departments in the local and regional universities.

Mission

Preparing qualified cadres scientifically and skillfully who have values that make them capable to perform their scientific research in accordance with the Islamic principles and contemporary developments in the Holy Quran.

Objectives

  1. Preparing qualified teaching cadres in the Holy Quran for recitation, memorization and interpretation.
  2. Paying attention to the learners in order to cope with modern technologies.
  3. Participating in community service through the dissemination of Quranic culture.
  4. Contributing in the scientific renaissance through the publication of Quranic research.
  5. Holding Quranic competitions for memorizing, reciting and interpreting the Holy Quran.
  6. Providing scientific expertise to associations and institutions working in the field of teaching the Holy Quran.
  7. Meeting the needs of the labor market in jobs related to teaching the Holy Quran and its sciences as well as achieving self-sufficiency of teachers specialized in teaching the Holy Quran in education schools and schools for memorizing the Holy Quran.
  8. Participation in courses and programs specialized in Quranic studies for community service.
  9. Providing modern technologies to assist in teaching the Holy Quran, such as Quranic stations.
  10. Establishing a library for Quranic studies with references and sources in all branches of Quranic sciences.
